Hola! Visit Empordanet, the new campaign that promotes responsible tourism in Forallac and the surrounding municipalities

This morning, the Municipal Hall of Ullastret hosted the presentation ceremony of Hola! Visit Empordanet, the new joint tourism promotion campaign for the five municipalities that are part of the Strategic Plan for local economic development: La Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret. The event was attended by the mayor of Forallac, Josep Sala, the Councilor for Tourism, Marta Chicot, and the Tourism Technician, Carla Saballs.

The mayor of Ullastret, Miquel Gatius, welcomed the attendees on behalf of the five municipalities that are part of the Strategic Plan for local economic development. Gatius explained that the campaign has been possible, on the one hand, thanks to the capacity for consensus and the desire to gather efforts of five city councils to achieve a common objective of economic dynamization of the environment, understood as a single territorial area and, On the other hand, the will and effort of the companies of the territory to offer activities aimed at the tourist throughout the year to contribute to the seasonalization of tourism in the summer.

And the campaign proposes activities that allow visitors to discover the landscape, towns, gastronomy and artisan trades in the territory they travel by sharing privileged moments with their local population. So, this year presents the tourist destination - which make up the five municipalities - through a more emotional account, focusing on people and their experiences. The campaign aims to be a reflection of the commitment to a responsible tourism model that generates respect among tourists and the local population and that contributes to the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage and the business fabric of the destination.

One of the communication elements of the campaign is a magazine and multilingual guide, with the collaboration of ambassadors such as Elena Paschinger, Austrian journalist and Creative Tourism travel blogger Creativelena and Carles Sanjosé, architect and musician of la Bisbal d'Empordà. While Elena explains her trip and presents the hosts she had and the activities she did there, in Carles she proposes a route to discover the landscape and towns around La Bisbal d'Empordà in her hometown. Finally, the guide lists restaurants that offer products of proximity with ceramics dishes of the Bisbal wine and DO Empordà wine and tourist accommodation establishments committed to the responsible tourism model. More than 40 establishments that have joined the campaign, between lodgings, restaurants and companies that offer activities related to tourism. These companies will be identified with a sticker in a visible place at the entrance of their establishment.

The closing of the event was given by the manager of the Tourist Board of Costa Brava Girona, Mr. Ramon Ramos, who has celebrated the focus of the campaign that places names and faces on the territory because people are a key element in a tourist destination and has congratulated the good work that is being done from the local administrations together with the " private company Ramos has completed his intervention supporting this initiative that helps to seasonalize tourism during the summer months and at the same time, it increases the quality of our visitors, which contributes, among others, to the increase of GDP in the territory .

This action is part of the strategic plan for local economic development that includes the municipalities of Bisbal d'Empordà, Forallac, Cruïlles, Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Corçà and Ullastret. The Strategic Plan, funded by the Public Employment Service within the framework of the Programs for support to local development, contemplates different strategic lines of action in order to increase the employment opportunities and business development offered by the territory through joint action and coordinated between the municipalities that make it up.
